Benefits
In addition to updating mathematical skills, you will gain a recognised and highly desired GCSE equivalent Functional Skills Maths qualification. This will provide you with a good foundation of skills in the field of work or any further education you may decide to proceed with.
Qualification
At the end of your Functional Skills Maths course, you will take a mock test and if successful, you will be eligible to take the Functional Skills Maths exam.
Upon successfully passing the exams, you will obtain a Functional Skills Maths certificate from City and Guilds which is recognised and valued as a GCSE equivalent qualification.
Please note that it may take up to 20 working days for City & Guilds to mark exam and inform us of the results. If you have successfully passed all exams, it will then take up to 2 weeks for us to receive the physical certificate.
Duration
The duration of this course will vary depending on which level you begin with and how long it takes you to absorb the material. Each level must last maximum of 4 weeks.
During your enrolment, you and your advisor will discuss, in detail, how long each level should take you in accordance with the course layout and the level you achieved in your initial assessments. They will then set you a deadline and offer guidance and support to ensure that you reach it.
Eligibility
In order to qualify for the government funding, you must be 19 years or older, living within a London Borough postcode, in receipt of unemployment benefit and have not completed a similar level qualification.
Full eligibility check will be carried out during Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) session and when provisional enrolment is processed.
You need to carry out diagnostics within our centre after your IAG session.
